UPDATED: Reggae Party with BAM - FABfest Schedule for June 13

Sunday, June 13, 2010
Here you go... the schedule for FABfest on June 13, 2010. The first day of FABfest was touch and go but the rain and hail (!) held off - almost - and the fashion designers of Fulton Street got a chance to step out onto the runway known as Fulton Street... that usually plays host to the MTA bus lines the B26 and B52. On Sunday the 13th, there will be cooking demos, food tastings, moonshine sipping and a chilled organic soup pureed making — with the aid of a human-powered bike-blender are all part of the line-up for second weekend of FABfest — a month-long three-block street festival on Fulton Street between Lafayette Avenue and South Oxford Street, in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.

A schedule of demos and tastings is below.

Meet at Fulton & S. Elliott Place at 3:00PM, the tour should last about an hour and ends at Greenlight Bookstore.

6-word Memoirs
Street-side Mad-Libs
And... Bookmaking with Esther Smith

down the middle of Fulton Street:

- All budding artists are invited to grab a brush and join in the community painting project on FOUR 4x8 foot sheets of plywood. Children are free to paint and create... and parents are reminded that this Sunday may not be the day for the kids to wear those really nice outfits! The paint is being donated by Fulton Street's Go Greene Hardware, and will be water-based so it will wash off. But still...

- Look for classic GAMES section with a ring toss, bowling, sack races and the bean bag toss into the tire shop's tires!

PLEASE NOTE:  No soccer on Fulton this Sunday. It seemed like a good idea, what with the World Cup and all. But when the ball goes flying on Fulton Street, there's a lot of windows right next to the "field"! Sorry.
