Call for Artists! Myrtle + Fulton Art Walk Coming This Spring

The Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership and Fulton Area Business Alliance are joining forces and talent to present an Art Walk event and exhibition highlighting artists, businesses and the vibrant community that is Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. All artists are welcome to submit their works for consideration.

Art will be curated and exhibited in businesses along Myrtle Avenue or Fulton Street, and will remain installed for one month (from May 19 to June 24). Artists are expected to be present for one day at the location of their installed work (Saturday, May 20) to encourage conversation, leave promotional materials, and consider sales.

How to get involved:

Email 3 jpegs representative of your work to Ramona Candy, Coordinator/Curator of the Art Walk, at

[please use “Myrtle/Fulton Art Walk: your last name” in the subject line]

Include a short artist statement, 200 words or less (word doc attachment) and your full contact information (name, address, phone, website, and social media feeds: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc). 

Submission Deadline:  March 31, 2017

Selection Details:

Artists will be notified by April 7th, but submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Space is limited, so please get your submissions in as soon as possible.

Coordinator/curator will meet with each artist to assist in selection of works based on assigned location. Two dimensional works selected for exhibition must be neat, wired and ready for hanging. Drawings, prints, photographs and watercolors should be under glass and framed. Sculpture will be considered for exhibition where appropriate businesses are identified.

*If you are a performance artist, or are interested in leading interactive programs or art-making workshops in public spaces, we are also interested in these expressions of interest.

*If you are interested in painting a storefront window, we are also interested in these expressions of interest, as we have a number of businesses offering their storefront windows for inclusion.
